CARE of Or storksbills (Pelargonium):
Pelargonium – the summer bloomer par excellence
The Pelargonium is a true classic for your balcony or terrace. This sun-loving plant is known for its long and exuberant flowering, from spring until well into autumn.
Place the plant in a sunny, sheltered spot and water the base of the plant as soon as the soil feels almost dry. You can easily check this by sticking your finger in the soil: if no soil sticks to it, it is time to water. Make sure that excess water can drain away; wet feet can cause root rot.
For extra rich flowering, we recommend fertilizing the plant every other week with liquid food for flowering plants. Regularly remove faded flowers to extend the flowering period and keep the plant healthy.
The Pelargonium is not winter hardy. You can choose to let the plant overwinter indoors in a cool, light spot, or plant a fresh specimen every spring.
