CARE of Rocktrumpet (Mandevilla):
The plant blooms all summer until the first frost. From mid-May the plant can be left outside day and night. I've never seen such a rewarding plant, if you just give it some liquid fertilizer every now and then. The plant is grateful for that and shows it by richly adorning you with new flower buds. If you forget to fertilize, the leaves will not turn a nice dark green and the plant will only give new flowers every now and then. In very sunny weather Mandevilla receives water every day. The plant blooms on this year's young stems. If you want to keep the plants, we can cut the stems to about 30 cm. Then slowly water less. Water very little in winter. Overwinter at about 7°C. The plant has a thickened root and saves its reserve food on it. From March you can increase the temperature and shorten the shoots to about 5 cm. If the plant spreads further, you can give some liquid fertilizer. The sap of the plant is poisonous, so be warned.
