CARE of Rocktrumpet (Mandevilla):
The plant blooms all summer until the first frost. From mid-May the plant can be left outside day and night. I have never seen a plant so grateful if you give it a little liquid fertilizer every now and then. The plant is grateful to you and shows this by lavishly decorating you with new flower buds. Do not forget to fertilize the plant, otherwise the leaves will not grow as beautifully and the plant will only produce new flowers occasionally. In very sunny weather, Mandevilla is watered every day.
The plant blooms on this year's young stems. If you want to keep the plants, we can cut the stems to about 30 cm. Then gradually reduce the amount of water. Water very little in winter. Winter around 7°C. The plant has a thickened root and stores its reserve food there. From March you can increase the temperature slightly and shorten the shoots to about 5 cm. If the plant grows more, you can give it liquid fertilizer. The sap of the plant is poisonous, so you have been warned.
