CARE or Natal lily or bush lily (Clivia):
The Clivia does not require high temperatures and prefers a cool place with a minimum temperature of 10°C. The ideal temperature is around 12 - 15 °C, which means we can speak of a cold greenhouse plant. When the plant emerges its flowering stem, it can be placed a little warmer. Clivias with fertilized flowering stems topped with berries give all their energy to seed formation and will not flower the following year. Therefore, after flowering, the flowering stem is removed by cutting it as deeply as possible against the base. The stump that is still in the heart then dries up and is removed later.
In order for the plant to bloom up to twice a year, it needs a period of cold and drought. Therefore, after flowering, preferably place the plant in a dark, cool place (not in front of a window or close to a radiator) and do not give it too much water. After a rest period, this Clivia will automatically bloom again.
