CARE of Guinea peanut (Pachira):
Yellow leaves are the result of too much sunlight. A Pachira is healthy when the houseplant has deep/dark green leaves. When these become lighter in color, it is wise to place the plant one meter further from the window.
Too much or too little water often results in the leaves turning brown. This can also lead to leaf drop. In winter, leaf fall can indicate too dry air.
The Pachira also drops its leaves when the plant is in a draft, but usually leaf drop is also a cause of too much water.
