CARE of Coreopsis:
Coreopsis, or girl's eyes in Dutch, is a deciduous perennial with a loose and irregular upright shape. The leaves are medium green, the upper ones are pinnate and 3 to 5 lobed. This girl's eyes blooms from June to August with bright yellow to golden yellow ray florets on hairy flower stems. Girl's Eyes likes a position in full sun to partial shade and a well-drained, nutrient-rich soil.
Winter conditions that are too wet are detrimental. The plant is hardy, fairly drought tolerant, attracts bees and butterflies, is sea wind tolerant and can therefore be used as a coastal plant. Coreopsis grandiflora has good disease resistance, air pollution tolerant but is sometimes plagued by snails.
