CARE of Bromelia Vriesea:
Place the Vriesea in a well-lit place in the house, away from direct afternoon sun. Water this plant in the calyx, which is the heart of the plant from which the flower grows. From this heart the plant feeds itself. When the water is no longer visible in the tube of the leaves, the plant needs to be watered again. Their tropical roots make Vriesea's excellent survivors, so they require little maintenance. Vrieseas provide flowering pleasure for an average of 3-6 months!
Nice to know: In the wild, the Bromelia feeds on rainwater, fallen leaves and bird droppings. The plant collects all these things in the rosette, which creates a reservoir full of nutrients. Not only the Bromelia feeds on this, animals also use this water storage. Birds, monkeys, frogs and other insects like to take a sip from it. The plant is especially indispensable for the poison frog. They use the water in the tube of the plant to deposit their frogspawn and thus reproduce.
