CARE of Japanese camellia (Camellia):

Camellias prefer an acidic soil and like a sheltered spot. Never plant a camellia on the east: the leaves dry out from the winter morning sun. In a sheltered spot you can enjoy the beautiful bloom from the end of February.

Is the camellia in bloom? Then shake it every day. Then the brown, wilted flowers fall off and no longer disfigure the plant. Never let your camellia dry out. Pruning a camellia is not necessary.

The camellia likes it when you spray its leaves. This is best done in the evening. This prevents your plant from being affected by spider mites, white flies or aphids. Are your plants already affected? Then a few evenings in a row abundantly spraying can eliminate all the pests.
