CARE of Spruce (Picea):
It is a small evergreen conifer with a bushy, perfectly conical habit. The needles are short, first light green, later dark green and shiny. Picea does not get flowers. It likes a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade and an acidic to neutral, slightly moist, well-drained soil. It is very hardy, not very drought tolerant, does not tolerate sea wind and air pollution and is generally good disease resistant.
Canadian spruce is a dwarf form of the white spruce and is known as the table Christmas tree. (because this dwarf spruce is also used during Christmas as a small variant of the "normal" Christmas tree).
